Warfare 1917 is a side-scrolling strategy game set in the muddy trenches of World War I. Instead of controlling a single soldier directly, you step into the role of a battlefield commander managing squad deployments, fire support, and morale. How to play

Tactical tips
Rushing forward immediately at the start of a level is rarely effective. Trench defenses grant enormous protection against standard rifle fire. Use these fundamental tactics to win difficult missions:
- Lay down smoke before advancing: Direct machine gun fire tears through charging infantry. Dropping a smoke barrage immediately before ordering your squads forward dramatically lowers enemy accuracy.
- Target snipers against enemy gunners: Heavy machine gun crews will wipe out whole squads in seconds. Station snipers in your forward trench to pick off gunners before sending assault troops.
- Keep officers near the line: Officers boost nearby troop morale and increase weapon effectiveness, preventing your soldiers from routing during heavy bombardments.
- Invest upgrade points early: Focus campaign upgrade points into mortar cooldown reduction and rifle accuracy to gain an upper hand in the opening minutes of each skirmish.
